Friday ARCs and BLADs

Last week, we didn't receive any ARCs or BLADs.  But this week we're back!

First up are the ARCs from the ABA (American Booksellers Association) White Box mailing.  We've got Pirate Cinema by Cory Doctorow from Macmillan and The Bully Book by Eric Kahn Gale from Harper Collins, which we've seen before.

Next is the Penguin Blue Ribbon mailing, a special highlight of titles the publisher is particularly excited about, all tied up in a pretty blue package.

This season, those books are Out of the Easy by Ruta Sepetys, The Different Girl by Gordon Dahlquist, and A Tangle of Knots by Lisa Graff.

And here's one lone YA title (that has seen better days) out of a Simon and Schuster ARC package, 33 Minutes: Countdown to an Epic Smackdown by Todd Hasak-Lowy, illustrated by Bethany Barton.

Next we have some titles from the Scholastic catalog:

Prisoner B-3087 by Alan Gratz, based on the true story by Ruth and Jack Gruener
Ricky Vargas: Born to Be Funny by Alan Katz, illustrated by Stacy Curtis
Rockoholic by C.J. Skuse
The Fire Horse Girl by Kay Honeyman (Yay non-white cover model!)
Infinity Ring Book Two: Divide and Conquer by Carrie Ryan (going on my reading pile)
Infestation by Timonthy J. Bradley
A Dog and His Girl Mysteries: Play Dead by Jane B. Mason and Sarah Hines Stephens

Unbroken: A Ruined Novel by Paula Morris
Geronimo Stilton Cavemice: The Stone of Fire by Geronimo Stilton (A brand new Geronimo Stilton series starring his ancient ancestors!)
A Corner of White by Jaclyn Moriarty
The Dead and Buried by Kim Harrington
Lincoln's Grave Robbers by Steve Sheinkin
That Time I Joined the Circus by J.J. Howard (Just what I need.  A book to make me envious.)
The Bird King: An Artist's Notebook by Shaun Tan (This has already been stolen from me.)

Next comes the Penguin picture books:

Otis and the Puppy by Loren Long (Yay!  New Otis!)
Ollie and Claire by Tiffany Strelitz Haber and Matthew Cordell
Monkey Ono by J.C. Phillipps
Little Cub by Olivier Dunrea
Time-Out for Sophie by Rosemary Wells
Rat and Roach Rock On! by David Covell (I'm pretty excited to see a sequel here.)

Froggy's Worst Playdate by Jonathan London, illustrated by Frank Remkiewicz
Tea Rex by Molly Idle
Dream Friends by You Byun
My Cold Plum Lemon Pie Bluesy Mood by Tameka Fryer Brown, illustrated by Shane W. Evans
Not Your Typical Dragon by Dan Bar-el, illustrated by Tim Bowers

Spike and Ike Take a Hike by S.D. Schindler (So many Spikes in the picture books lately!)
Robomop by Sean Taylor, illustrated by Edel Rodriguez
Betty Bunny Didn't Do It by Michael B. Kaplan, illustrated by Stephane Jorisch (More Betty Bunny!)
Ol' Mama Squirrel by David Ezra Stein
Follow Follow: A Book of Reverso Poems: Companion to Mirror Mirror by Marilyn Singer, illustrated by Josee Masse
Wilfred by Ryan Higgins

The Loopy Coop Hens: Letting Go by Janet Morgan Stoeke
The Deep, Deep Puddle by Mary Jessie Parker, illustrated by Deborah Zemke
How Martha Saved Her Parents from Green Beans by David LaRochelle, illustrated by Mark Fearing
The Eagles Are Back by Jean Craighead George, illustrated by Wendell Minor (This has to be one of George's last books.)
Peanut and Fifi Have a Ball by Randall de Seve, illustrated by Paul Schmid
See a Heart Share a Heart by Eric Telchin

The Apple and the Butterfly by Iela and Enzo Mari

Finally, a small selection from Random House:

Dead River by Cyn Balog
Bluebird by Bob Staake
A Pet Named Sneaker by Joan Heilbroner, illustrated by Pascal Lemaitre (You get to see the title page because I didn't get a cover.)
Road Trip by Gary Paulsen and Jim Paulsen

That's it for this week.  What looks good?

    1. I'm glad to see it, too, and I have a feeling we aren't the only ones.
