It's Monday! What Are You Reading?

It's Monday! What Are You Reading? is a meme hosted by Book Journey with a children's version at Teach Mentor Texts.

This week, I finished Okay for Now by Gary D. Schmidt in preparation for the Writers Read reading group's May meeting.  Then I moved on to Insurgent, the second book in the Divergent trilogy by Veronica Roth because I needed to know what happened, like, six months ago.  Then I started Disney at Dawn, the second book in the Kingdom Keepers series by Ridley Pearson in preparation for his author event.

Next week, I plan on finishing Disney at Dawn then launching into Disney in Shadow, the third book in the series.

What are you reading?

    1. Chaos Walking has been on my list for a while. Now, if only I could get through all the upcoming-events books and back to my personal list...

I look forward to hearing what you think of Insurgent. There's a lot to be excited about. I'm still debating exactly what I think.

    2. it took me a week of on/off reading to get through The Knife of Never Letting Go (mostly because of other stuff going on), but then i tore through the next two. stayed up until 3:00 in the morning to finish the third book, so that says something right there.

  2. I need to get Insurgent! I am not sure how it is that I don't already have it. Slacking, I guess. I loved Okay for Now. I can't wait to give it to my middle school book club. Here is what I have going on http://wp.me/pzUn5-Y6

    1. Okay for Now is fantastic. It's definitely on my book club list, although we only read books available in paperback, so I'll have to wait.

  4. How do you like the Disney series? I thought it might be fun to read, since we went to Disney this past November.

    1. I'm still not quite done with book two, but they're great for a bit of light action and mystery. Pearson has done a lot of research, so if you're interested in the behind-the-scenes of the parks, there's plenty of information to be had.

    1. That's exactly my problem! They haven't announced anything about the next book, as far as I know, so who knows how long we'll have to wait.

In the meantime, did you know there's a chapter from Four's point of view available online?

    1. I'm enjoying them too, though I can see how they would have unique appeal in Orlando. Is Disney really as popular a destination for the locals as the books make it out to be?

  7. I'm pretty eager to get going on Insurgent, too. I have a lot of fans of Divergent in my library so I may have to sneak off with the copy before placing it in circulation.

    1. I say go for it. I only had to jealously guard my copy from my fiance. I don't know what I'd do if I had the entire patronage of a library to compete with...
